Ryū Ga Gotoku Kenzan!



There are four fighting styles in the game; fists, one blade, two blades and two-handed blades. There are also QTE-based special moves that the player can execute, known as 'heat action'. The first volume contains boss music, generic battle music and long battle music.

The game takes place two years after its predecessor, with Tatsuya discovering that the Dragon Heat arena is under threat from another fighting ring group called Ashura. As a result, Tatsuya teams up with other young fighters to save Dragon Heat. The Yakuza series has gone from being rather niche to booming in popularity. During Chapter 13, Nakaoka shows the remaining Shinsengumi members a photograph of Hanpeita impersonating Sakamoto Ryoma. This photograph is based on a real historical photograph of Sakamoto Ryoma.

The first demo included sandbox play, and the second had a collection of various combat and romantic gameplay segments. After being defeated by the Tokugawa clan at the historical Battle of Sekigahara which took place on October 21, 1600, Miyamoto Musashi retired from his great swordsman life to become a modest yojimbo in Gion (祇園), Kyoto. Five years after the battle, a little girl named Haruka comes to Gion seeking a local hitman known as Kazumanosuke Kiryu which is actually Miyamoto's new identity. After eventually finding Kiryū, Haruka asks for him to assassinate an impostor pretending to be Miyamoto Musashi.

It is the most powerful of the four styles, though it is slower and more focused on a singular enemy versus Wild Dance or Hand-to-Hand. Set during the chaotic Bakumatsu period, Sakamoto Ryomagoes into hiding after taking the fall for the death of his mentorYoshida Toyo. One year later, Ryōma is in Kyoto, going by the alias Saitō Hajime. He discovers that the assailant who killed Tōyō was using a style called Tennen Rishin, which aims to be close to genuine fighting rather than sticking to any one style. It was practiced at the Shieikan dojo in Edo before it closed down, and its practitioners are now in Kyoto. After a run-in with the Shinsengumi, Ryōma meets an informant going by the alias Niibori Matsusuke, who reveals that all the practitioners of Tennen Rishin are in the Shinsengumi.

As well as being able to upgrade weapons and armour in the regular way, special abilities can also be added. By sacrificing the piece of equipment with the desired ability, it can be added into an "empty" slot onto another. Empty slots can be added by improving the status of a piece of equipment. This involves using a hammer to hit the equipment at the right time. Improving the status of a piece of equipment adds more empty slots for special abilities.

Under the name Saito Hajime, he infiltrates and joins the Shinsengumi, a police force organized by the government at the time, in order to get to the bottom of his predicament. This game was the first to feature the series' new protagonist,Ichiban Kasuga, however, Kiryu does feature in his own story chapter. Other Yakuza favorites also appear within various story chapters in the game.

Depending on the current status of the weapon, different hammers are required. The basic stats of a piece of equipment can also be improved by "Tempering." This requires certain powders and a hammer be used. If the player hits the hammer when the gold icon is highlighted, the piece of equipment will receive the maximum status boost, with less enhancements for silver and bronze respectively. Finally, the player can create custom bullets, which have various effects. The blacksmith has a level, which improves every time the player upgrades a piece of equipment.

Ryōma decides to join the Shinsengumi in order 龍が如く維新 to get closer to the assailant. Set in the chaotic Bakumatsu period between 1853 and 1867, Sakamoto Ryōma is distressed resulting from conflicting pressures and uncertainty about one's self and role in the society. Being embroiled in the middle of a Tosa coup d'état and bent on finding the murderer who assassinated his mentor, Ryoma burrows himself with a hidden identity in the streets of Kyoto and joins the grim Shinsengumi.

Whilst at Omiya, Ryoma reaches the top floor, where he meets and kills a soldier. Beside the soldier is an injured Nakaoka Shintaro, who tells Ryoma their plan was used against them. It's now where Takechi appears once again, covered in shadow alongside Ito Kashitaro and Sasaki Tadasaburo. Ryoma angrily questions Takechi on the revelation of why he Takechi used Ryoma's name and attempted to destroy his life. Takechi cryptically tells Ryoma before leaving that he will be waiting at Tosa, and that he "has one last job for to do."
